CDN supports the Venezuelan people’s struggle to regain freedom and democracy through the vote

A few hours before the elections in Venezuela, the Concertación Democrática Nicaragüense, CDN-Monteverde, joins the clamor of Venezuelans and citizens of the world to demand respect for the popular will during the elections of July 28.

The eyes of the whole world are focused on this process in which millions of Venezuelans, overcoming all kinds of obstacles and defying the repression of Nicolás Maduro’s regime, expressed their will in the streets during a historic electoral campaign that mobilized them and gave them back the hope of regaining their freedom through the vote.

We urge the Venezuelan people to turn out en masse to cast their vote at the polls and not to allow another electoral fraud by the regime of Nicolás Maduro.

The CDN-Monteverde expresses its admiration and respect to the leadership of Vente Venezuela, headed by María Corina Machado, to the candidate Edmundo González, and to the Venezuelan people for the determination, commitment, will and civility demonstrated throughout the electoral campaign.

The Nicaraguan and Venezuelan people share the pain of suffering under despotic dictatorships. At the same time they are united by the determination to recover freedom in order to restore democracy. The triumph of the Venezuelan opposition will vindicate the hope that dictatorships can be civically defeated when the people unite to defy tyrants.

Venezuelan people, victory is near, you have already decided.
