About Us
We are a group of citizens who assume the moral and political obligation to end the totalitarian repression that prevails in Nicaragua, and to build a way of life that allows all Nicaraguans to live in freedom, plurality and tolerance, and that has the support of the international community.
What we currently call the Nicaraguan Democratic Concertation CDN-Monteverde, was initially known as the Monteverde group, in reference to the place in Costa Rica where, in 2021, the first meetings were held. We are the extension of an initiative that first built trust among a group of Nicaraguans who believe in democracy.
But starting in January 2024, after two years of negotiation and consensus, we transformed ourselves into a political consensus-building actor, made up of diverse organizations, both political and social, and individuals who participate in a personal capacity. We are formed to lead a political strategy with action in several key areas. This agreement aims to bring together as many civic actors as possible, so that together we can consolidate a diverse political coalition that includes the main pro-democracy voices of Nicaragua.
